Henryk's family home - front and back. (you could be in Yorkshire !!)
Sherman M4A2E8 (76 mm) HVSS tank displayed near the Royal Canadian Regiment Military Museum in London, Ontario. It carries the markings of the 6th Armoured Regiment (1st Hussars).
HVSS improved suspension around the wheels was a later model - pictures that Jurek has shows the original bogie suspension, however throughout the war Jurek's and Leo's teams were moved into newer models as they wrote off the old one's.
"When dad was here for a visit we went to the army base across the road from where I live. There's a Sherman tank that dad sez is his regiment, the plaque reads that the Shermans were built here in London by GM (General Motors) who today build the military Striker amoured vehicle. There was a few Sherman tanks around town that was used by the Canadian army.
The interesting point is the regment number 51 - same as on Jureks tank pictures" ! (see Normandy page)
