Jureks future wife Marysia and her two sisters are orphaned on the way to Siberia and Wladzia is seperated from Marysia and Zosia. Wlladzia makes her way back to Poland from Siberia but Marysia and Zosia get to Uzbekistan where they come under the British sphere of influence and are sent to Tengeru Refugee camp in Tanganyika Africa.
